Owl-eyed Bird Dropping Moth
Old fields, forest edges. Caterpillars feed on pin cherry and perhaps hawthorn.
Mid-spring to mid-summer.
Best moth name ever ;)
Before I knew the name of that moth, upon first sight of it, I dubbed it the “FairIsle Moth,” bec. it looks just like the yoke on a FairIsle sweater! :)
